1:20 PM CASE STUDY: Communication & Network Power: Three Design Innovations to Improve Learning Spaces at Deakin University
Influencing the minds of others is now widely cited as a modern form of communication power. Nowadays, horizontal flows of network communication challenge the vertical forms, and the education sector is no different. This case study assesses three of Deakin University’s innovative projects which coalesce around the design of new learning spaces: Active Learning, Audio-visual Support and Design Standards. These design projects require cooperation, communication and “buy in” from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to lay the foundations for successful student learning.
- Active Learning and collaborative learning: Which design features inform Learning Spaces to foster active learning?
- NextGen AV Support: How can AV over IP return more control to, and lower costs for, large scale education providers?
- Networked and Networking Power: What are the benefits and limitations of publishing Design Standards?
