2:30 PM PANEL DISCUSSION: The Art of Partnerships: Relationship Management with Internal and External Stakeholders to Improve Effectiveness of Space

Developing flexible and technology- enabled learning spaces require partnerships with external (engineers, technology consultants, equipment manufacturers) and internal stakeholders (staff, instructional technologists). The processes of understanding what works best for stakeholders and how to engage them have been barriers to building successful and functional learning environments. It’s time to bring everyone on board so we can deliver the best teaching outcomes. This panel discusses construction phrase, with a focus on:

  • Effective and structured communication between relevant stakeholders and development outcomes
  • Addressing ownerships issues in the processes
  • Are external stakeholders sacrificing functionality: the impact when stakeholders plan, design, and build but do not understand why
  • Discussing how to adapt your project to the viewpoints, goals, and current operational concerns of each partner so as to keep them invested
